Sleep, Recovery, and Protein Synthesis

To answer this question completely would require major speculation on my part. As a responsible scientist, I try not to speculate very often. However, protein turnover is elevated during sleep. Also, when a muscle is working, it stops recovering / growing.

“is it possible that less meals speed-up this process due to less energy required to digestion?”
Not really. Actually, just consuming a protein rich meal elevates protein synthesis for a short time. So, consuming smaller, more frequent high protein meals and / or snacks will likely help you and muscle mass.
